The 11th Southern Folk Cake Festival featuring nearly 100 local traditional cakes was held in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho. What is special about the Southern Folk Cake Festival?

The 11th Southern Folk Cake Festival in 2024, with the subject "Preserving and promoting the value of southern folk cakes", is scheduled to take place at the Square of Binh Thuy District, City, Can Tho, from 17-24/4 (from March 9 to March 13 of the lunar calendar).

The cake festival in Can Tho is divided into two parts: the ceremony part and the festival part.

Several unique rituals will take place throughout the event, such as the cake offering ceremony at Tan An Temple, the festival's inauguration, and so on. This year's cake festival, in particular, coincides with the 10.3 lunar calendars Hung King Temple Festival, thus there will be an incense and cake offering ritual at the Hung King Temple (Can Tho City).

At the beginning of the festival, there will be musical performances introducing folk cakes. This year's festival is held with an expected scale of 250-300 stalls, including stalls of Southern folk cakes, regional specialties, gifts, and souvenirs.
